Owner Warren O’Shea has been in remodeling and construction for more than 30 years. So when he started his self-named business, he took the responsibility seriously.

With more five-star reviews than any other contractor in the state of Maine—not to mention a few stints on HGTV, DIY, and the Food Network along with a citizenship award from the Portland Police for “detaining an armed felon during a robbery”—what’s attached itself to O’Shea’s business is a reputation for quality, craftsmanship, and responsiveness. He says even the simple act of returning calls within 24 hours sets him apart from the competition. But O’Shea has done more than that to grow his business over the years.

First off, along with being a remodeler, he’s a certified home inspector and he’s working to make sure all his employees get the same certification. “Now they’re looking at each renovation job in an entirely different scope,” he says. “They’re looking at the entire house, not just the part of the house we happen to be working on.”

For O’Shea, it goes back to providing the kind of customer service he can proudly associate with his name. Another simple way O’Shea demonstrates that commitment is with the mandate that employees find out how clients like their coffee so they can provide coffee and donuts once a week. He also tells them to take empty trashcans in from the curb and bring in newspapers. “It’s a service industry,” he says. “We’re all good craftsmen. So it’s all about customer service. It’s like being the best waiter you’ve ever had at your favorite restaurant.”

Meet Our People!

Manager of Field Operations

I have been in the construction industry for more than 40 years, starting my career with a pre-apprenticeship training program as a mason. After graduating I traveled around the country for about 10 years, working for small contractors and large corporations in positions from general labor to painting, plumbing, carpentry and as a heavy equipment operator. I also worked in the industrial sector as a civil carpenter in paper mills and power plants. In winter, I took positions in local restaurants as a cook, waiter and bartender. My family on my Mom’s side have been in the food service industry for three generations. I grew up around hospitality management and understand the importance of customer service, happy clients and repeat business.

I started working at O’Shea Builders approximately 8 years ago, starting off as a skilled carpenter and have worked my way up to a management position. I now serve as the Manager of Field Operations, where my duties include customer relations, code compliance,  leading the safety training for our crews, and the scheduling of contractors. I hold an OSHA 30 certification and have completed training on the administrative side of our safety program.

My strengths include maintaining our very satisfied client base and keeping our employees mindful of their performance, quality, and safety. The safety of our clients and their property is of the utmost importance. I deliver the best service possible to achieve complete customer satisfaction by engaging in constant communication, acting as liaison between clients, job leads, sub contractors, vendors, and the main office to ensure no issue is left unresolved on the job site or in the planning process. My diligence ensures that loose ends are not overlooked and my organizational skills keep your projects running smoothly.

Carpenter, Fisherman, Jack of All Trades

I’m Brian, and I’ve been working in carpentry for about 20 years. Outside of work, I like hanging out with my wife, Olivia, our son Cale, and our pack of animals at home. On weekends, you’ll find me outdoors, especially in the summer when I compete in bass boat tournaments around Southern Maine

Carpenter, Builder, Woodworker & Tile Installer

Hi, my name is Chandler and I have been in the construction field for around 5 years. Out of the years I have been in the field I’ve done a little bit of everything, wood working, drywall, tile, framing, and more. I have a family background in all things construction, and from a young age I knew I would like to satisfy customers in getting the product they want.  I aspire to make people’s dreams come true from new kitchens to new decks. I am always looking to learn new innovations and ways of building.

Carpenter, Skier, Project Manager, Dog Lover, Painter & Drywaller

Hey there, I’m Chelsea! With about 9 years in the trades, my focus has been on painting and drywall. Currently, I’m diversifying my skills, delving into carpentry, and pursuing a construction management education. When not immersed in construction, I enjoy quality time with my fiancé and our two dogs, Lady Mae and Waylon. Winter finds us hitting the slopes for skiing and snowboarding, while summer is all about camping trips with our furry compani
